Supported Independent Living

Your home, your life, on your terms

Supported Independent Living, or SIL, is support to help you live in your own home. It can be in a home you share with others or a place of your own, and it covers the everyday help you need, such as personal care, cooking, cleaning, building skills and staying safe.

SIL is about your home and your life, on your terms.

A person at ease and independent in the living room of their own home, personal touches around them, a support worker nearby
Our approach to SIL

Safe, respectful and truly yours

Your home, your choice

You have a say in where you live, how your day runs and, where you share, who you live with.

Your voice and your rights

We support you to make decisions about your home and daily life, with information in a way that works for you.

Skilled, consistent workers

Our SIL team is trained in supported decision making, trauma-informed practice, active support and positive behaviour support.

Safe and respectful

We put safeguards in place to protect you from harm, while respecting your right to make your own choices and take everyday risks.

Support kept separate from tenancy

Your right to your home is protected and is not affected by decisions about your support.

Is SIL right for you?

If you want to live more independently and need regular support to do it safely and well, SIL may be a good fit. Talk to us about your goals and your NDIS plan, and we'll help you understand your options.
